Splatoon 2’s next Splatfest in Japan has been revealed via the latest issue of CoroCoro, and the topic is ‘Boke vs Tsukkomi’, which is a topic that’s returning from the original Splatoon. [Thanks, @black_nb_hksi on Twitter!]

For those unfamiliar, a boke-and-tsukkomi manzai routine in Japan is the basic equivalent of a comedy duo, with one person being the funny man and one person being the straight man. The two often trade verbal and physical gags, typically with the tsukkomi providing retorts or reactions.

The Splatfest will be a collaboration with the Splatoon manga that runs in CoroCoro, similar to the Champion vs Challenger Splatfest that was held early last year in Japan. In this case, Goggles is the ‘boke’, while Specs is the ‘tsukkomi’.

Splatoon 2 is available on Nintendo Switch.
