We previously reported that Tanita showed off the prototype for their Virtual-On series twin stick controller for their third crowdfunding campaign to increase the number of produced units, and as of today, the project has passed its goal of 44,600,000 yen (around $411,000 USD) with 1,220 patrons and 15 days left.

By reaching this goal, another 1,000 twin stick controllers are guaranteed, with the extra money past the goal going towards even more controller units with no upper limit.

On the official page for the Tanita Twin Stick Project, Tanita thanked the supporters and commented that the speed the project passed the goal far exceeded their expectations, and they believe it is thanks to the number of people who wanted to support the project, but missed the chance to do so the first time.

Using the same production method for the first batch of controllers, these new controllers will be worth 39,800 yen each (around $366 USD). The additional controllers are expected to ship out around March 2020, a few months after the first batch’s November 27, 2019 expected release date.

The stick is set to be compatible with A Certain Magical Virtual-On, which is available on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita. The first three Virtual-On games, Virtual On: Cyber Troopers, Cyber Troopers Virtual-On Oratorio Tangram, and Cyber Troopers Virtual-On Force are headed to PS4, and are set to be compatible as well.
