Square Enix officially unveiled two paper bear tossing games for Japan. Kumanage: The Blue Jewels Hated by Kiina Battle Version and Kumanage: The Red Candy Piina Likes Puzzle Version are coming out on WiiWare next week.
Each game features a different story and lead character, but similar mechanics – you toss paper bears. In Kiina you throw bears and other monsters to protect a blue crystal. The goal of Piina’s version is to collect red candy by throwing the bears at stage gimmick targets. Each game costs 1,000 Wii Points ($10).
While Square Enix hasn’t announced these titles for the West, we dug up ESRB ratings for The Tales of Bearsworth Manor: Chaotic Conflicts and The Tales of Bearsworth Manor: Puzzling Pages over a month ago. The descriptions sound pretty similar too. It seems like Chaotic Conflicts is The Blue Jewels Hated by Kiina and Puzzling Pages is The Red Candy Piina Likes. That is just a guess, though, and the reason why I put a (?) in the title. For all we know, Square Enix is secretly planning a dozen different bear games.
