Retro Studios has been tasked with making Donkey Kong Country and Metroid games for Nintendo, so it may not surprise people to know that it has put cameos from one series in installments of the other. Previously, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze was known to have one Metroid reference, but a second has been found by a fan named Shane Marchis. It is an actual Metroid in an underwater area.

To find this Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze Easter egg, you will need to head to level 4-3: Amiss Abyss. After you get past the first checkpoint, you can follow the steps in Marchis’ video to swim and see the Metroid. This is possible to do in both the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Wii U versions of the game.

As a reminder, the other Metroid Easter egg in Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze is Samus’ Gunship. You can see it in 1-B: Busted Bayou. It is in the background, against a tree, next to the “K” KONG letter.

Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze is available for the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Wii U.
