During a stage event at ACGHK 2018 today, Nihon Falcom president Toshihiro Kondo announced that the Traditional Chinese version of Trails of Cold Steel IV will be coming out in early 2019, as well as information on Trails of Cold Steel III’s Chinese release date as well.
Here are the highlights from the stage event:
- Trails of Cold Steel I Kai & II Kai are coming to Chinese regions on August 17, 2018. Kondo explained that with these two games players can remind themselves of what happened in the plot, in time for the upcoming release of Trails of Cold Steel III.
- Meanwhile, the Traditional Chinese version of Trails of Cold Steel III is set to launch on November 1, 2018. Pre-orders for the game start on August 17, and there is a Kiseki Box special edition that matches the contents released in Japan. Meanwhile, there is an original Premium Download Edition that wasn’t available in Japan, which includes a complete digital OST, a PS4 theme, and a starter item set.
- Rean’s voice actor, Kouki Uchiyama, was also present at the event, and he confirmed that the voice acting for Trails of Cold Steel IV is complete. As he thanked the staff for their hard work, he realized how quickly five years had passed since he first voiced the character. In the beginning, he felt a lot of pressure on voice acting an important main character in a series as well-known as the Trails series.
- Trails of Cold Steel IV is set to come out this year in Japan, and is being released in Chinese in Early 2019, with localization work being handled by Sony Interactive Entertainment.
- While Estelle, Joshua, and Renne have been confirmed to appear in Trails of Cold Steel IV, Kondo teased that even more nostalgic characters from the Trails in the Sky trilogy will return, which hasn’t been revealed even in Japan. This is also true for the Zero/Ao no Kiseki duology.
The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel IV will be released in Japan on September 27, 2018 for the PlayStation 4. The game will also come out in Traditional Chinese in Early 2019.
