A few days ago, a new The Binding of Isaac game was teased. Now, we know it is a card game called The Binding of Isaac: Four Souls and is available on Kickstarter. The project was hoping to raise $50,000 and has blown past that goal to over $499,000 from over 7,200 backers.
In The Binding of Isaac: Four Souls, people begin with each player picking a character card, three loot cards and three pennies. You attack monsters with dice and play loot cards to get more pennies to acquire more items. If you are strong enough, you can face a boss. Defeating a boss gets you a soul. If you end your turn with four souls, you win. Each copy of the basic version of the game comes with four character cards for Isaac, Cain, Judas and Magdalene, though meeting certain Kickstarter stretch goals have also revealed Eve and Samson. (Eve, Samson, Curse and Blood Lust cards only if you pledge beyond tier 2.) Four starting item cards, two dice, 100 loot cards, 100 monster cards, 100 pennies and 100 treasure cards are also in the box. If someone goes with a gold box or higher tier, they also get a 68-card expansion pack.
The smallest amount you can pledge to the Kickstarter and get a copy of the game is $25. If you also want the expansion pack too, you have to back the project for at least $35.
The Binding of Isaac: Four Souls is expected to ship in November 2018.
