On March 13, 2018, Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp received a version 1.3.0 update that added bug and fishing records that would show the size of caught creatures and prepared for a Fishing Tourney event. Now, on March 15, 2018, the game’s first Fishing Tourney has begun in the Saltwater Shores area. It will run until March 20, 2018, with trophy pickups being handled by Chip between March 20-23, 2018.

During the Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp Fishing Tourney, people can catch barred knifejaws, clown fish and surgeonfish. These are turned into Chip, who will measure them. (And certainly not eat them, of course, because he is a professional.) You can use your regular fishing red or use leaf tickets to rent a golden rod to catch two fish at once or tourney throw net that will catch multiple fish at once. When fish total-size goals are reached, he will give people the barred knifejaw tank, coral bench, clown fish hairpin, clown fish tank, decorated coral, seaweed screen and surgeonfish tank. If you turn in at least one fish to Chip, you will receive a trophy in your mailbox.

In addition, new campground terrain parts have been released. You can now spend leaf tickets on the coral fence, ocean sky and seafloor (back).

Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp is available for Android and Apple iOS devices.
