With recent Pokémon games, people have needed to connect to the Pokémon Global Link for various online activities. As the Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon release draws nearer, an update will temporarily take the service offline. For one week ahead of the Nintendo 3DS games’ launch, the service will be down.

This means a number of Pokémon Global Link services will be inaccessible in games like Pokémon Sun and Moon between November 10-17, 2017. You will not be able to participate in Online Competitions or Rating Battles. This also means you can not use the QR Code Rental to rent a team.

Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon will come to the Nintendo 3DS on November 17, 2017. People who buy and register their copy of the game to their Pokémon Global Link account will receive an as-yet-unrevealed “special gift” in-game.
