PrimeSense proudly announced their 3D sensing and recognition technologies are being used for Project Natal.
“PrimeSense’s technology enables a paradigm shift in the way people interact with consumer electronic devices. The engagement with Xbox 360 establishes PrimeSense’s position as a leading supplier of 3D-sensing technology,” said Inon Beracha, Chief Executive Officer, PrimeSense.
What does PrimeSense do? Their main product is the PrimeSensor, a USB powered device that detects depth, color, and sound in real-time. PrimeSense claims their product works in all lightning conditions, even in complete darkness.
The PrimeSensor device also bares an uncanny resemblance to the Project Natal prototype sitting on a Gorillapod. Perhaps, the PrimeSensor is the primary component in Project Natal.
