We learned today that Atlus is bringing FuRyu’s old-school RPG with modern aesthetics in The Alliance Alive to the 3DS. Here’s a new story trailer and details that were shared for the West.
One thousand years ago, Daemons invaded the world of Humans. They subjugated Humanity and created the Great Barrier to separate the realms. The world was thrown into upheaval, and the Dark Current was born. It carved a cross-shaped swath across the ocean, swallowing countless cities in its wake. Humanity was decimated. Hundreds of years later, Daemons rule atop a hierarchical society. However, the time for resistance has come. The world is about to change yet again…
The Alliance Alive released in Japan earlier this year as a nostalgic RPG with a modern touch. The game offers a massive world to explore and a story featuring nine protagonists to go with a familiar turn-based battle system. Players will establish and unite guilds throughout the four realms while battling Daemons. The “Ignition” system allows for deep customization and nuanced gameplay for combat, and it comes with some sweet Final Strikes to finish off enemies.
The game’s story is written by Yoshitaka Murayama, directed by Masataka Matsuura, designed by Kyoji Koizumi, and features music composed by Masashi Hamazu.
The Alliance Alive releases in early 2018 in the West for Nintendo 3DS. It’ll be available for $39.99/€39.99/£29.99 and pre-orders are now live.
