Bandai Namco and Granzella finally shared new info on their upcoming survival action game City Shrouded in Shadow. Here’s the latest on the game from this week’s issue of Famitsu magazine. [Thanks, Hachima.]

The Giant Shadows that we’ll see in the game:

  • Giant Shadow 1
    • Ultraman
    • NisUltraman
    • Alien Zarab

  • Giant Shadow 2
    • Godzilla
    • King Ghidorah

  • Giant Shadow 3
    • Evangelion Unit-01
    • The Fourth Angel

  • Giant Shadow 4
    • Gamera
    • Soldier Legion

Here’s a list of characters that appear in the game:

  • Male Protagonist  – Ken Misaki (CV: Takya Satou)
  • Female Protagonist – Miharu Matsuhara (CV: Satomi Akesaka)
  • Yuki Kouno (CV: Reina Ueda)
  • Hideyasukuni Otsuka (CV: Ryota Takeuchi)
  • Risa Kashiwagi (CV: Yuuko Kaida)

You’ll get to choose between the male or female protagonists when you start out the game, and you’ll also get to change their names. Their jobs, clothing, and hairstyle can also be changed. There will be an option to select between “lover” and “friend” as the relationship between the heroine and protagonist.

Granzella’s Kazuma Kujo and Bandai Namco’s Kensuke Tsukanaka shared the following in the Famitsu interview:

  • You might remember seeing people run by the mass from giant monsters (kaiju) in anime and Tokusatsu when you were a kid. The game started out with the idea of what if you were one of those guys running away.

  • The game will have the Kazuma Kujo-style characteristic of having many choices.

  • Depending on what kind of choices you make, the heroine might even end up thinking you’re a horrible person.

  • You won’t get to see stuff like Ultraman vs. Nise Ultraman settle their fight. You are just a regular human, after all, so that means you’ll mostly focus on surviving.

  • Crossovers won’t happen for each work in the game. You’ll get to experience different situations one stage at a time.

  • The focus is currently on finishing the game, so there aren’t any plans for DLC at the moment. However, Bandai Namco and Granzella are still considering it.

  • Development is currently 75% complete.

City Shrouded in Shadow releases in Japan in Fall 2017 for PlayStation 4. A PlayStation Vita version was planned, but it appears to have been cancelled.
