We recently got a look at a new trailer for Lady Layton, which is now known as Layton’s Mystery Journey: Katrielle and the Millionaire’s Conspiracy, and Level-5 provided more info on the game’s release for both versions.
With the Layton series providing more entertainment than ever before, Level-5 felt that it would be best to change the name from Lady Layton: The Millionaire Ariadone’s Conspiracy to Layton’s Mystery Journey: Katrielle and the Millionaire’s Conspiracy to give it a more grand image.
Layton’s Mystery Journey will be available in Japanese, English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Dutch, and Korean.
The 3DS version of the game releases “in Japan first” according to Level-5, so it sounds like it’ll be getting a Western localization sometime soon. However, for now Japan will get the game on July 20, 2017 on 3DS for 4,800 yen (both retail and digital).
As for the smartphone version of the game, it releases worldwide on the same date of July 20, 2017. It’ll be available for 1,900 yen and will have in-app purchases. Level-5 notes that micro-transaction items won’t ever be needed to get to the game’s ending.
Layton’s Mystery Journey is expected to release in the West in 2017 for Nintendo 3DS. Check out its latest trailer here.
