With 2016 nearing its end, this week’s issue of Famitsu magazine has a special year-end feature that has comments from 46 video game-makers about what we can expect in 2017. [Thanks, Hachima.]

 

Here are some of the highlights from the feature.

 

Idea Factory & Compile Heart

We’ll keep going on the offense in 2017 as well. In addition to sequels, new titles and more from Otomate, the brand geared towards female players, we’ll have various apps and events. Compile Heart is also readying Four Goddesses Online and other completely new titles.

 

Atlus

We have several unannounced titles for 2017, so please look forward to their announcements.

 

Valhalla Game Studio

[This year,] We offered new titles to the world with Devil’s Third Online and Momotaro Dentetsu 2017. In 2017 we’ll continue our challenge of taking on various genres.

 

Koei Tecmo Games

In addition to Dynasty Warriors 9 that got announced at the end of this year, we’re preparing other surprising new titles.

 

Nippon Ichi Software

We’ll continue challenging in 2017. In addition to releasing new console titles, we plan to enforce various challenges.

 

Nihon Falcom

Ys is celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2017, and we have plans to release new details on Ys VIII for PlayStation 4 as well as The Legend of Heroes; Trails of Cold Steel early next year.

 

Microsoft Japan

2017 is Xbox’s 15th anniversary in the Japanese market. Please look forward to this year.
