Hello Charlotte takes players on two different experiences, asking them to navigate a horror RPG world filled with dozens of ways to meet a gruesome, jarring end, and getting them to make friends with the unsettling creatures and beings in a place called the House.
Hello Charlotte, which is running through Greenlight, offers player two different chapters in the game’s series, each exploring its bizarre world and characters in their own way. It casts the player as the Puppeteer, controlling the actions of Charlotte, the puppet, throughout each game.
The first episode, Junk Food, Gods and Teddy Bears, is “a minimalist surreal horror parody RPG”, taking the player to a strangely-humorous, yet deadly world and tasking them with keeping their puppet alive. The second episode, Requiem Aeternam Deo, is a psychological thriller visual novel of sorts, tasking the player with making friends with the weird creatures that inhabit a place called the House.
For those who do not wish to wait for the Steam release, Hello Charlotte EP1: Junk Food, Gods and Teddy Bears is available for free through Itch.io. Hello Charlotte EP2: Requiem Aeternam Deo is also available for $4.50 US on Itch.io.
