Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Spirit of Justice released this week for the Nintendo 3DS, and new gameplay footage from the beginning of the game has surfaced, courtesy of GameSpot. In the video below, we get a look at when Phoenix arrives in the Kingdom of Khura’in and meets Ahlbi Ur’gaid, a monk-in-training and local tour guide.
Additionally, Capcom has shared the latest developers’ blog in which logo designing and programming are discussed by members of the development team.
First off, we get a look at the different iterations that the Spirit of Justice’s main logo went through before settling on a final design.
Next, programmer Momoko Hirata explained a bit about her job writing programming scripts. These scripts control various things in the game, such as when a character will appear on the screen, what a character will say, which background will be displayed at a certain time, and which piece of background music will play.
Presentation lead Yoshimi Onishi goes on to explain how he and the other scripters use the scripts written by programmers like Hirata to convey characters’ personalities and craft scenes, as well as the challenges presented by having to script for the game’s 3D sprites as opposed to 2D.
