Square Enix has announced a Final Fantasy XV Live concert will be held at Abbey Road Studios on September 7, 2016. The London Philharmonic Orchestra will deliver an hour-long performance of songs from the Final Fantasy XV soundtrack. Composer Yoko Shimomura will also make a special appearance. The concert will be streamed at 11:00 a.m. PT (2:00 p.m. ET) with additional details forthcoming.
Abbey Road Studios is where artists like The Beatles and Pink Floyd have famously recorded their albums. Film scores have also been recorded at the studio, including The Lord of The Rings and Skyfall. Shimomura discusses the event in a statement to the press. “With so many iconic recordings taking place here over the years, performing the music for Final Fantasy XV in the very same recording studio is a huge honor for me and for everyone involved,” Shimomura shares.
“I am excited to be able to collaborate with Abbey Road Studios for this performance and to share the music of Final Fantasy XV with everyone. I hope that music and videogame fans around the world can tune-in and join me for this incredible experience.”
It has been confirmed via Twitter that tickets to attend the concert in person will not be made available for purchase, but Abbey Road Studios is holding a contest to give away 10 pairs of tickets to the event.
