Bandai Namco previously showed off their new cross-media project, Digimon Universe: Appli Monsters and how it works. The official website has updated with a look at new “Appmon” and more.
The first two are Appmon that are focused more in the story of the game.
Onmon (Game-type)
An Appmon based on online games. It loves all-things connected.
Offmon (Game-type)
An Appmon based on offline games. It loves all-things-disconnected
Next are Appmon with various attributes.
Gacchimon (Social-type)
An Appmon based on searching apps. It can teach you all kinds of information using its searching abilities.
Dokamon (Game-type)
Appmon based on action game apps. This one’s a bit of a wild one and loves fighting against strong opponents.
Musimon (Entertainment-type)
An Appmon based on music apps. It’s able to create music that can move your heart.
Hackmon (System-type)
An appmon based on hacking apps. These guys can find weaknesses of programs and use it to its advantage. They say that depending on how they’re used, Hackmon has the ability that can bring danger to the world.
Navimon (Navigation-type)
An appmon based on navigation apps. They can help guide you to your destination. They’re a straightforward appmon that don’t bother with detours and taking alternate routes.
Cameramon (Tool-type)
An Appmon based on camera apps. They make for excellent cameramen, and use cameras around the world to monitor enemies from the net.
Viramon (Life-type)
An Appmon based on virus apps, and they’re able to make all kinds of different viruses used to make other Appmon go crazy.
Next is a look at what you can get from combining two Appmon together.
Dogacchimon (Social-type)
The Dogacchimon is a fusion between Gacchimon and Navimon. Its special attack is called “Dogacchi Buster.”
Now that we know more about some of the Appmon, below is a look at the “Stack Attack” system:
To give you an idea how it works, you can combine Appmon powers to power up. The more “Chips” you have, the more damage your Appmon’s attack will do. While choosing an Appli Skill you’ll be able to stack them by picking the same attributes, and the more you have, the more damage you can do. In the example shown, we have a combo of six stacks adding for an additional 65% damage, so this will certainly be a crucial part of the gameplay.
Digimon Universe: Appli Monsters will release in Japan sometime in fall 2016. The anime will premiere on TV Tokyo this October.
