We previously got a glimpse of Gladiolus’ sister Iris and Lunafreya’s brother Ravus. Square Enix has updated with high-res screenshots in addition to more info on the world and battle system.
Ravus Nox Fleuret
Lunafreya’s older brother. He was once part of the Tenebrae Kingdom, but he now belongs to the Niflheim Empire.
Iris Amicitia
Gladiolus’ younger sister. She escaped after the Niflheim Empire’s assault on the Capital City, and now resides in Lestallum. As we saw in the Brotherhood: Final Fantasy XV’s third episode, she’s known Noctis and Ignis since she was a child, and is a well-trusted ally. She’s a girl with a stalwart heart and doesn’t lose her positive personality even in tough situations.
There are all kinds of shops that you’ll get to visit in the world of Final Fantasy XV.
Shops are where you’ll find items such as potions to recover health or ingredients needed for cooking.
You can go to diners during your adventure to eat, but these also act as Information Brokers, where you’ll be able to find info on things such as “Mobhunt” subjugation quests.
There are shops to purchase weapons which vary depending on where you are. Since they won’t sell the same weapons, it’ll be a good idea to check them all out while looking for new gear.
Gas stations will be a necessity in Final Fantasy XV to continue your travels on the car. Since you won’t be able to travel by car if it runs out of gas, it’ll be important to make sure you’re always fueled up.
We mentioned Mobhunts, so let’s take a look at how they work. While the main story advances through main quests, there are various sub-quests that you’ll be able to take on. One of these include the subjugation quests that you can accept from Information Brokers, also known as “Mobhunts.”
These will have you take on challenging monsters and you can also acquire rewards that are exclusive to Mobhunts.
Next up is a look at the battle and Link features. While in battle, you can automatically activate “Links” by meeting certain requirements. Each character has their own unique Links.
Ignis’ Link Attack involves Noctis kicking up his spear in the air, followed up by Ignis jumping high up to catch it and dropping down on the enemy for massive damage.
Gladiolus’ Link Attack activates when attacking an enemy from behind. When used, Gladio grabs Noctis by his hand and throws him up in the air so he can deal damage on enemies from above.
Following is the battle and Command feature. As the name implies, a Command is where you can get help from allies by using a “Command.” Here’s a look at some of the Commands from Noctis’ friends:
Prompto’s “Star Shell” Command is where he shoots a shot that shines like a star in order to stop the enemy’s movement. This can be used offensively by distracting the enemy to land some powerful hits.
Gladiolus’ “Tempest” Command involves swinging his body and great sword to hit nearby enemies. You can get an additional hit from Noctis if you time an input properly.
Ignis’ “Mark” Command is where he throws daggers to lead Noctis to attacking the targets. Once activated, Noctis can swiftly move from target to target with attacks.
During your journey, you’ll meet various people and partake in conversations where you’ll need to give them a response of your choice. Depending on your choice of answer, the conversation development and parameter contents will change.
Final Fantasy XV will release worldwide on September 30, 2016 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
