In Frozen State, players will need to dodge strange alien hybrids and dangerous human soldiers as they scavenge for the parts they need to fix their transport and escape the deadly city of Duga-40.
The world has been plunged into a man-made ice age due to protect them from the alien forces that have started mingling with humans. The plan hasn’t worked, as those creatures still patrol the world of Frozen State, and the player will either have to avoid them or fight them in melee combat. Other soldiers are also a constant danger.
The cold also presents a problem, and players will need to find heat sources and warm places if they want to survive the randomly-generated world for long. Still, a crafting system will let players build shelters to avoid the cold of the game’s dynamic weather systems, as well as make food, weapons, and tools for themselves.
A few friends exist out in the world, which players can do quests for or get some temporary shelter with. These people will also fill the player in on the story of what happened in the city.
Frozen State offers players the option to choose between roguelike and regular modes, and will be leaving Early Access for a full release on August 5.
