Sitting aboard a transport ship that’s flying through space at the speed of light, players will only have social media to form any connection with the family and friends they’ve left behind in Killing Time at Lightspeed.
Through Friendpage and Skimmit, players can follow the actions of their friends. The further the ship gets from Earth, though, the more time it takes for updates to arrive. Soon, minutes on the ship turn into hours, days, weeks, and years for the people back home, and in the span of a single message, the player’s friends and loved ones can grow old and die.
Players can choose which stories to follow by clicking on links in the updates the other characters make, but while taking time to head down one path, others may close. It’s up to the player to decide how they affect the people back home, and who they try to talk to with the limited time they have left.
Killing Time at Lightspeed is available now on Steam.
