Everyone’s got a Monster Hunter inspired game. It’s the new portable trend. Konami’s is Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker. Namco Bandai’s is God Eater. And by virtue of being a Monster Hunter clone, it’s already primed for success.

At least, that’s what the demo indicates, which Inside Games report has been downloaded 1 million times. Namco are taking the feedback they received from demo players into account and tweaking the final build of the game accordingly, too. There’s also a new 2010 trailer of the game.

God Eater is scheduled for a February 4, 2010 release in Japan. When it’s finally published, you’ll be able to transfer characters from the demo to the final game, which is probably part of the reason the demo did so well.
