Castlevania: Rondo of Blood Dancing To Virtual Console

Konami passed on publishing the TurboGrafx CD version of Castlevania: Rondo of Blood overseas in the 90’s. Richter and Maria’s vampire hunting adventure finally came to North America as Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles, a 2.5D PSP remake.

It also included the original game, fully localized, as a bonus. Perhaps, that will be the base for the upcoming Virtual Console version. Australia’s OFLC just rated Castlevania: Rondo of Blood with Nintendo as the publisher, putting it in the top secret chest with future Virtual Console games.

Hopefully, Konami will do a little ROM hacking and utilize the translation they made instead of just throwing the Japanese Virtual Console data online. Look for Castlevania: Rondo of Blood in 2010?
