Survey Says Europe’s Favorite Video Game Character Is Mario

According to a report from YouGov, an Internet focused market research company, Mario is Europe’s most popular video game character. Everyone’s favorite goomba stomping plumber beat out Sonic the Hedgehog, Master Chief, Pac-Man, and UK heroine Lara Croft.

YouGov’s research also notes the majority of Europe’s survey respondents recognized Mario’s soundtrack.

Nintendo is pleased with the result and in Europe they’re using the news to push New Super Mario Bros. Wii.
