Final Fantasy XIV’s Patch 3.2, “The Gears of Change,” is just on the horizon and Square Enix recently shared the extensive patch notes detailing everything players can look forward to.
First off, new main story quests have been added.
New Chronicles of a New Era quests have been added.
New Hildibrand quests have been added. To unlock these, you must first speak to Nashu at The Pillars (X:5.9 Y:9.9), be level 60, and have completed main scenario quest “Heavensward” and the quest “Her Last Vow.”
The Vath beast tribe quests have been added in the Dravania Forelands. These quests will also use the same automatic level adjustment system known as quest sync that the Vanu Vanu beast tribe quests use. To unlock the Vath daily quests, players must first complete the beast tribe quest “The Naming of Vath.”
The new beast tribe settlement can be found at the following location:

The Adamantoise mount will now have the ability to fly.
New aesthetician hairstyles have been added.
New emotes have also been added:

Two new dungeons, the Antitower and The Lost City of Amdapor (Hard), have been added. Both require players to be level 60 and have an item level of at least 180. The Antitower also requires players to complete the main scenario quest “As It Once Was,” and The Lost City of Amdapor (Hard) requires completion the main scenario quest “Heavensward” and the quest “One Night in Amdapor.”
The raid dungeon Alexander: Midas has been added and will require playerrs to be level 60, possess an item level of 200 or more, and have completed the quests “Enigma.”
Alexander: Midas (Savage) has also been added and can be challenged by players once they complete the quest “A Gob in the Machine.”
A new trial, Containment Bay S1T7, has been added. The level requirement is 60 and the item level requirement is 190 or above. Players must also first complete the the main scenario quest “As Goes Light, So Goes Darkness” and the quest “Gods of Eld.”
The Containment Bay S1T7 (Extreme) trial has also been added. This will require players to be level 60, have an item level of at least 205, and to have completed the quest “When the Bough Wakes.”
The Hall of the Novice, a training area for learning combat and role fundamentals, has been added.
New items have been added.
New recipes have also been added.
New mounts have been added.
New minions have been added.
The mentor system has been added to provide more experienced players a mean to offer advice to newer players. To become a mentor, players must first have at least one Tank, one Healer, and one DPS job all leveled to 60, completed 1,000 instanced dungeon raids or trials, and have received 300 player commendations. To become a mentor as a Disciple of the Hand and Land, players must have at least one Disciple of the Hand or Land leveld to 60, and have gathered 300 collectables, or synthesized 100 collectables.
Becoming a mentor gives players access to the Novice Network, a chat channel where new adventurers can seek the advice of veteran players. Additionally, when a new adventurer and a mentor create a party, both will receive a bonus to experience points earned from various activities until level 20. Bonuses to experience points apply to the following:
- Enemies defeated in the open world (leves, treasure hunts, etc.).
- Enemies defeated in dungeons and guildhests.
- Experience point rewards for completion of dungeons and guildhests.
- Experience point rewards for completion of FATEs.
Final Fantasy XIV is available for the PC, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation 4. Patch 3.2, “The Gears of Change,” will release on Tuesday, February 23rd.
