Nintendo has began registration for their Nintendo Account service following the Japanese launch in December. Pre-registration for Miitomo is also now available for select countries.
As previously reported, the Nintendo Account will make it so that users can easily register acounts through Nintendo systems or social networks such as Facebook, Twitter, Google+, or simply through email.
The Nintendo Account service allows users to directly purchase digital downloads on the spot, along with member profiles, play records, notifications, and gifts. There’s also a point program system, similar to Club Nintendo.
Next up is Miitomo, a smartphone app with a variety of different features. Here’s a rundown from the official website:
1. Make a Mii to Look Like You
Miitomo features the Mii characters that debuted on Nintendo’s Wii system. Choose from a wide library of facial features to make your Mii look just like you. You can also create one by using a photo taken by your smart device’s camera.
After creating your Mii and giving it a nickname, you can customize how it speaks and choose its personality.
2. Use Your Mii as a Social Go-Between
In Miitomo, your Mii and your friends’ Mii characters act as social go-betweens. Your Mii will ask you questions you’d never think to ask yourself, to learn the fun little things that make you…YOU!
Your friends’ Mii characters will do the same thing. Then your Mii and their Mii characters tell each other about these details, so you and your friends learn fun things about each other that you’d never find out without Miitomo!
3. Dress Your Mii However You Want
Costumes, streetwear, formal fashion, everyday style—you can find it all in the Miitomo shop. Mix and match clothing items to create just the perfect look for your Mii to wear! You can get clothing items with Miitomo coins, which you earn by playing Miitomo. You can also purchase Miitomo coins.
4. Make Your Mii a Star with Miifotos
In Miitomo, you can create images called Miifotos. You can let your creativity go wild, putting your Mii and friends’ Mii characters in images you make from a library of stamps, fonts, and backgrounds.
You can also use photos from a smart device’s camera as backgrounds for Miifoto creations. You can share your Miifoto creations on social media, such as Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.
Miitomo is launching sometime in mid-March, and those who pre-register can get Platinum Points for the My Nintendo rewards.
