Bayonetta’s Inclusion Could Result In Hairy Situations In Super Smash Bros

The last Super Smash Bros. DLC character will be Bayonetta, the Umbra Witch from the Bayonetta games. She appeared in the final Super Smash Bros Direct, facing off against Pit. Which is pretty appropriate, considering she’s a witch hunting angels in her series.

Bayonetta will be a combo based character, drawing on her gun and hair attacks, and each of her specials can hit multiple times. Bayonetta has Bullet Arts as well. When people hold the attack button after an attack, she’ll shoot her guns. This could leave her open to other attacks. As for the specials, Bullet Climax is her standard, After Burner Kick is her side special, Witch Twist is the up special, and Infernal Climax is her Final Smash. Witch Time starts when the Final Smash is triggered, so Bayonetta can fill the Climax Gauge. If she fills it, Gamora appears to chew on enemies. Madama Butterfly appears for her other Wicked Weaves attacks.

Bayonetta also brings Witch Time with her to Super Smash Bros. That’s not lag. That’s Bayonetta controlling time with her down special. It only slows down the opponent she’s countering. If you overuse Witch Time, the effect will be decreased. Bat Within will trigger if her Witch Time dodge move is about to fail.

The costumes for Bayonetta are taken from her Bayonetta and Bayonetta 2 appearances. She wields four guns, as usual, with one in each hand and one on each heel. Depending on her costume, she’ll either have the Love is Blue or Scarborough Fair set equipped. Aerial jumps give her butterfly wings, and she has a Madama Butterfly shadow in the Nintendo Wii U version. She even has a Jeanne color variation for her costumes.

The Umbra Clock Tower stage comes with Bayonetta. Songs from Bayonetta and Bayonetta 2 will be available in the Nintendo Wii U version of the game. Both versions of Super Smash Bros. will receive Rodin, Jeanne, and Cereza trophies.

Bayonetta was the number one request in Europe and in the top ten in North America. She was the number one choice worldwide that Nintendo could bring to Super Smash Bros.

The Bayonetta DLC will come to the Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo Wii U versions of Super Smash Bros in February 2016. You can get her and her stage for $5.99 for one version of the game or get both the Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo Wii U versions together for $6.99.
