Clannad, a visual novel originally released by Key for PCs in 2004, made its English debut thanks to Sekai Project today. In doing so, it ended up accomplishing something rather momentous. Not only did the $49.99 game end up in the top 10 sellers on Steam at launch, but it briefly held the number three slot. This meant it was beating out games like Call of Duty: Black Ops III, Grand Theft Auto V, and Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate.
In the hours since its launch, Clannad has since slipped down one spot in Steam’s top sellers list. However, it still remains in the top five games available on the digital distributor, ahead of Grand Theft Auto V and Undertale.
Clannad’s English release is the result of a successful 2014 Kickstarter campaign, during which 5,819 people raised $541,161. It is immediately available on Steam for Windows PCs. It’s normal price is $49.99, but it is temporarily $42.49 until November 30.
