Shiren the Wanderer 3 Portable Adds Six Solo Dungeons

In Shiren the Wanderer (aka Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer 3 in Japan) you wander with a group. Allies, like Asuka, follow Shiren and take turns automatically. Spike’s PSP port takes them away for six newly added dungeons. These PSP exclusive dungeons are solo levels. Shiren’s friends can also pick up companion-only equipment.

The solo dungeons seem geared towards veterans, but Chunsoft wants to make Shiren the Wanderer 3 Portable friendly for newcomers too. Easy mode lets players restart from their last save instead of loosing all of their loot. This is a pretty big change for Shiren or any roguelike. Will this help Shiren find new fans?

We’ll find out on January 28, 2010 when Shiren the Wanderer 3 Portable is released in Japan.
