Sony Computer Entertainment Japan Asia announced that their annual PlayStation Awards ceremony will be held this year on December 3. The official website provides us with more details.
The PlayStation Awards originally started back in 1994, and since then it’s been an annual event to commemorate the best-selling PlayStation games in Japan.
The “Platinum Prize” is given to titles that surpass the one million total shipments mark, while the “Gold Prize” is for those that hit the 500,000 total shipments figure.
Fans also get their say in the awards with the “User Choice” award that is given to the top 5 most voted games in Japan, and there will be another for the top 5 in Asia; however, they must be titles that were released anywhere between November 1, 2014 through September 30, 2015.
Additionally, this year will have the PlayStation Network Award, which will be given to the top 3 most downloaded titles on PSN, along with a new “Asia Special Award” for the top 3 games that have contributed the most to business in ASia.
The PlayStation Awards 2015 will be held on December 3, 2015 at 5:00pm JST.
