Shiren the Wanderer (aka Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer 3 in Japan) may not be a Wii exclusive anymore. Japanese retailer Rakuten has a PSP port of Shiren the Wanderer in their catalog dated for January 28, 2010.
Chunsoft adjusted Shiren 3’s balance so its friendly for newcomers and core users plus created an original dungeon just for the PSP version. Shiren the Wanderer for PSP also supports infrastructure mode for online rescues. Details if other network features like downloadable dungeons from the Wii version have not been announced leaked.
While this news is unofficial, it’s easy to believe. Spike, the developers of Kenka Bancho, are publishing Chunsoft’s games. As soon as they got the rights to 428 they ported it to PSP and PlayStation 3. 428, like Shiren the Wanderer, was originally developed for the Wii.
Japan is most likely going to see Shiren the Wanderer on PSP. The question is will Atlus release the PSP version here around the same time? Perhaps, they’re already working on it. That would explain the game’s spring 2010 release window nicely.
