In addition to having flashy special attacks called “Hunting Arts,” Monster Hunter X will let you choose more of a personal touch with its “Hunting Style” feature. This week’s issue of Famitsu magazine details the game’s four Hunting Styles. [Thanks, Hachima.]

Guild Style: a well-balanced and basic Hunting Style. This Style is the closest to how you’ve played in past Monster Hunter titles.

Striker Style: an attack-minded Style that specializes in Hunting Arts. While this style isn’t as technical, it will allow you to set up to three Hunting Arts.

Aerial Style: a Style that lets you freely attack in mid-air. This is done by using the monster as a platform to pull off a special jump attack.

Bushido Style: this Style allows you to evade monster attacks for a chance to perform powerful counter moves. It can turn a dangerous moment into an opportunity, but isn’t recommended for beginners.

The above is a look at the Fanged Beast monster called Gamut. They’re aggressive herbivores that will use its long trunks and large bodies to attack their foes. These guys can suck you up with their trunks, use breath attacks that cover a wide area, and launch rocks with precision.

The “Hororo-Horuru” is a new Bird Wyvern-type monster that prefers being in the dark. It uses its sharp claws of its wings and feet to strike enemies from above. They also have special scales inside their feather that puts you in an unconscious state upon inhaling, which temporarily unable to move.

To make matters worse, the Hororo-Horuru can shoot giant laser-like sound wave attacks. Getting hit by this will put you in a “Pinch” status, but we still don’t know what that means.

Monster Hunter X will release in Japan on November 28, 2015 for Nintendo 3DS. The magazine also confirmed that Yian Garuga will be in the game.
