Mr. Tired Media, a studio founded in 2014 by former NIS America employees Ryan Phillips and Neptunia editor Nick Doerr, launched a Kickstarter this morning for their new dungeon-crawler-meets-visual-novel hybrid Undead Darlings ~no cure for love~.

Undead Darlings ~no cure for love~ takes place in a post-apocalyptic world and follows the misadventures of one Reginald “Reggie” Happenstahnce. Saddled with the responsibility of being the son of the scientist who developed a cure to a plague converting people into Zombies, Reggie is told he must find a way to mass-produce his father’s cure…by a group of girls who have only half-turned into zombies. Being immune to the plague, the undead girls agree to aid Reggie in his quest – but only under the condition that he carries all their loot.

The game borrows elements from traditional dungeon-crawling RPGs and combines them with the narrative of a visual novel. Players will be able to navigate post-apocalyptic dungeons and fight monsters in classic turn-based battles that draw inspiration from the most revered of JRPGs, all the while getting to know more about the undead girls in choice-driven visual novel segments.

Making the right dialogue choices might bring the undead girls closer to Reggie, and if their relationship develops well enough, they may volunteer to become the first guinea pig for his father’s cure.

If the project is funded, Undead Darlings ~no cure for love~ will launch on PC, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation Vita in May 2016.
