Monster Hunter X is an upcoming title based on the Monster Hunter Ultimate 4 engine, with a bunch of flashy new moves similar to those seen in the Frontier games. Producer Shintaro Kojima and director Yasunori Ichinose have shared a message for fans of the title on the official website.
Here’s what producer Shintaro Kojima had to say:
It’s here—a non-numbered Monster Hunter title. It’s the 11th year for Monster Hunter, and we’re taking it a year at a time, as we offer new possibilities in the hunt.
“Hunt” x “Refreshing” x “Style” x “Monster”
While continuing with new challenges, [the game] will feature the proper hunting action that you enjoy. Please look forward to Monster Hunter X.

Next, is a message from director Yasunori Ichinose:
The keyword is “personal,” and that’s the kind of Monster Hunter we’ve made.
After watching the trailer, if you saw things that got you excited, I believe there just may be things for you look forward to.
Elements that might make boys say “badass!”
Elements that might make girls say “cute!”
Elements that might make adults boast and say “am I awesome, or what?!”
And elements that will make kids say “woo! Haha!” are just some of the things we’ve packed into the game.
New monsters, a new world, and new action. Just from using one weapon type, I believe you will get to play and feel the new differences at first, then the second time, then the third, the fourth, and so on.
I’ve always wanted something where you can put together a weapon that fits your personal taste and combine it with a hunting style to turn it into some kind of action that feels great.
I believe we’ll have all kinds of new information in the near future, so it’d make me really happy if you guys can wait and look forward to it.
