Terraria has sold over 500,000 copies in Japan, publisher Spike Chunsoft have announced. Spike Chunsoft localized Terraria for its Japanese release and inserted cameo characters like Monokuma from their Danganronpa franchise.

Spike say that the 500,000 figure includes both packaged and download sales of the game. That appears to include the iOS and Android versions, which were also published by Spike Chunsoft in Japan.

Thus far, Terraria is available on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Vita, iOS, Android in Japan. Recent ratings have pointed to Nintendo 3DS and Wii U versions of the game being in development, so it should be interesting to see if Spike choose to bring those to Japan as well in the future.
