How Long Will The New Demon’s Souls Servers Be Online?

Good question. After Sony shut down online play for Derby Time Online after seven months it’s a fair question too.

The service terms, which you must agree with to play Demon’s Souls online, guarantee sponsorship for “no less than six months” from the game’s release date. In other words, you’ll have online play and black phantom invasions at least until April 6, 2010.

The Demon’s Souls servers in Asia have been online for over six months. The game came out there in February. Atlus and Sony made fresh Demon’s Souls servers for North America, which are pretty barren at the moment.

Here’s a look at some of the monsters you’ll face on the North American servers come October 6.

Update: Just a clarification, Atlus has not announced a close date for the servers. The policy states the North American servers will be online until at least April 6, 2010. The servers in Asia have been online for over six months so its likely that Atlus’ servers will exceed the minimum.
