Previously, we were introduced to the new red archer called Vainglorious Ghoul who captains the ghost ship The Amaranth. This time we start off with the alternate green archer Vigilante Mask. Being a child, the green archer finds it difficult to be taken seriously, so she crafted a mask to wear that looks like a giant leaf to strike fear in her enemies.

Next up is the alternate blue archer whose appearance is loosely based on the game critic Anita Sarkeesian. “Anita’s work has been an inspiration to the TowerFall team. Her “Tropes vs Women in Games” video series gave us a valuable new lens through which to assess our character designs. TowerFall is about bringing people together, so it’s vitally important that the cast of playable characters makes everyone feel invited to join in. Simply put, this wouldn’t have occurred to me if not for Anita, and feedback from players has reinforced how important it really is. We’re very excited to immortalize Anita in a small way, as the alternate Last of the Order,” it reads on the studio’s blog.

The alternate pink archer is the Blind Prince. The back story goes that the prince tried to take back his father’s throne after he was overthrown but he, too, suffered defeat and was robbed of his eyesight.

Last for now is the alternate orange archer, the Loyal Kingsguard, who was among the first thing to appear from the Dark World portal when it connected to TowerFall. As you might be able to tell, his design is based on Alucard from Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. He’s also the shadow doppelganger of the original orange archer who betrayed TowerFall’s king.

The other five alternate archers that will be added in the Dark World expansion will be revealed at a later date. Look out for updates on the TowerFall blog.
