PC gaming retailer Green Man Gaming announced late last year that they’re expanding to become a videogame publisher. A new division of the company, dubed Green Man Loaded, has been picking up indie titles for release, and this morning they announced their first game.
Idol Hands is a strategy game where you get to play god, and gradually take over the world by guiding your people and defeating other gods. Rather than controlling people directly, you’ll provide them with usable land, protect them from attack, and control nature to their benefit. In turn, they will live their lives, create the necessary constructs, grow crops, and micro-manage themselves.
Eventually—provided you guide them right—your people will grow into a strong army that you can send to attack an enemy’s populace to wipe them out, leaving other gods powerless. You can see how the game works in the trailer above, and find system requirements below:
Minimum Spec:
Processor – Intel Core i5 or equivalent
Graphics – HD Graphics 3000
RAM – 2GB
OS – Windows 7
Recommended Spec:
Processor – Intel Core i7 or above
Graphics – HD Graphics 4000 or above
RAM – 4GB
OS – Windows 8 or later
Idol Hands is being developed by Pocket Games and will be released for PC on February 18th. Green Man Gaming have said in the past that, when working with them, developers will be able to retain ownership of their I.P., so it should be interesting to see if the prospect of this attracts other studios to sign up with them.
