The 4th wave of amiibo figures, along with some other new non-Smash Bros. amiibo were announced in this morning’s Nintendo Direct. Here’s a look at what they are.
The fourth wave of amiibo have been revealed as Lucina, Pac-Man, Ness, Robin, Charizard, and Wario. These amiibo will release in Europe on April 24 and in Japan on April 29. The North American release is planned for this Spring, and an exact date is expected to be announced soon.
Additionally, Nintendo are also releasing six new amiibo figures for Mario Party 10 on Wii U. You can also use some Mario Bros. characters from previous amiibo sets, but it’ll require you to delete your Smash Bros. data on it before having them jump into Mario Party 10.
Additionally, Nintendo are releasing the new Mario amiibo bundled with Mario Party 10, along with a Toad amiibo that will be included in a bundle for Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker.
Mario Party 10 will use amiibo to unlock themed game pieces and boards. What makes the Captain Toad one interesting, is that it’ll add a new feature to the game, where tapping the Toad amiibo will bring out a hidden Toad Pixel somewhere in the stage.
We’re not exactly sure what happens when you find the Toad, but there will likely be a nice little bonus to go with it whenever the pixel Toad is found.
