Way of the Samurai 3 Comes To North America Thanks To Two Publishers

Spike drafted a unique publishing deal to bring Way of the Samurai 3 to North America. Agetec and UFO Interactive will publish the game in North America.

Wait, two companies are publishing the same game? Yep. UFO Interactive is handling the Xbox 360 version and Agetec is publishing Way of the Samurai 3 for PlayStation 3.

I asked UFO Interactive and Agetec about the agreement and received the following response.

During this economic climate, Agetec and UFO wanted to leverage our collective experience and knowledge to release a franchise title for both the PS3 and X360 platforms, while dividing up the total development cost. It’s a win-win situation for everyone, including the fans, who are able to get this title on the platform of their choice.

This creative agreement allowed two smaller publishers to pick up an established, although niche franchise North America.
