Devil Survivor 2 doesn’t have social links, but there is a Persona-like friendship system. Dubbed the Fate System in the West, Devil Survivor 2 lets players bond with characters when they aren’t erasing demons from Tokyo. This video from Devil Survivor 2: Break Record shows the Fate System with added voice acting. Increasing your Fate rank gives friends elemental resistance, a skill to swap demons mid-battle, and can even unlock demons.

 

Depending on your choices, some characters may or may not make it too. The bottom video has a spoiler in it if you skipped the DS version. Devil Survivor 2: Break Record comes out for Nintendo 3DS on January 29 in Japan.
