Let’s say that you don’t own a Wii U or a Nintendo 3DS, and in fact, you only own a PC. How do you get your Super Smash Bros. fix in such a situation? Perhaps Brawlhalla is the answer.

It’s a free-to-play 2D platform brawler by Blue Mammoth Games that is currently in closed beta. You can sign up to be part of the testing process on the game’s website.

Alternatively, you can purchase a Founders Pack over on Steam for $12.99. This gets you beta access, a founders nameplate, an exclusive steampunk VALKRI, and 315 Mammoth Coins (worth $15) to spend in game.

There are more expensive version of the Founders Pack that adds beta invites for your friends and more in-game currency, as well as a Collector’s Pack that comes with a bunch of extra in-game content.

You can see how Brawlhalla plays in the video above. It has a continuously expanding roster of characters, each with unique weapons (swords, hammers, blasters, rocket lances) and play styles.

The most popular play mode is an online battle between two teams of up to four people each. There is also online 4-player free-for-all, and local multiplayer variations of these too. You can find out more about the game on its Steam Early Access page.
