Play-Asia is taking a sizeable gamble by funding Soldner-X: Himmlessturmer, a shoot ‘em up with unannounced “innovations” and supposedly “state-of-the-art” graphics (but no screenshots?). Concrete details are scarce about the project except there are 12 levels set across four worlds and the main character is an anti hero. What’s more mysterious about Soldner-X is Play-Asia hasn’t even announced a platform for the title, but said it will support 720p HD mode. So it can’t be a Dreamcast game. Soldner-X sounds like it might be a PC game or perhaps an Xbox 360 title. Soldner-X is coming out in 2007 and since it’s an original title, we’ll keep an eye out on it. In the meantime shmup fans can enjoy Aegis Wing, which you can download for free tomorrow.
