Digital PC game retailer Green Man Gaming is turning into a publisher, the company announced today. Green Man will launch a new publishing arm, dubbed Green Man Loaded that will help developers bring their PC games to market.
In case you’re wondering if titles published by Green Man Loaded will be restricted to the Green Man Gaming website, they won’t—the publisher says it plans to publish games “across all leading distribution channels”.
In addition to offering publishing services, Green Man Loaded will allow developers to retain ownership of their IP. The company will also help with seeking out financial solutions required to complete games, access to closed beta programs, marketing and PR support, and fortnightly royalties.
In order to guide the new publishing unit, Green Man Gaming has hired former VP Digital Business at Codemasters, and SVP Publishing & Content at Sega, Gary Rowe, as Executive Vice-President of Green Man Loaded.
“My first priority at Green Man Loaded has been to meet developers with high quality PC titles available for world-wide publishing and I’m looking forward to making our first announcements about this in the coming weeks,” said Rowe.
“We are keen to find future projects that are looking to access finishing finance or simply need a hand navigating the route to market.”
