Arc System Works had an online lobby for BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma on PlayStation 3, but Persona 4 Arena Ultimax is also getting one for its online multiplayer mode, and it’s full of adorable chibi-style Persona characters serving as avatars.
The online lobby features real-time communication, where you start out by picking different worlds as lobbies. Once you’re in, you can use various icons or preset phrases to talk to other players. You can also type out messages or send private chats to other players.
You can also register “P-Cards” with other players to add them to your list of favorite players. The card can be edited to show when you play the most, your last time logging in, a simple message, along with various records.
Players can choose from a wide range of avatar characters, all with a bunch of color varieties. You can even see the two new characters Zen and Rei from Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth.
And of course, this is where you’ll be able to challenge players you find in the lobby to online fights. By trading P-Cards after good match-ups, it’ll be a good way to make friends with new rivals to continue honing your skills.
Persona 4 Arena Ultimax is slated for release on September 30, 2014 in North America for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
