Both Level-5’s new properties are being successfully spun off into a variety of media; Inazuma Eleven with a lengthy anime series and Professor Layton as a new animated movie. Like Inazuma Eleven, Layton has a manga that serializes in CoroCoro magazine, too.

Considering how well Layton has done in the West, it isn’t a stretch of the imagination to assume that someone will end up licensing the movie in the U.S. Whether it’s Nintendo or Level-5, or an anime licensee like Funimation (they get all the good stuff nowadays) remains to be seen though.

Professor Layton and the Eternal Diva will release in Japanese theatres on December 19th. Anime News Network reports that a Layton live-action movie is in the works, too.
