Despite being plagued with a few balance problems, Freedom Wars, which was promptly patched up by Sony Computer Entertainment, is doing quite well with 35,000 download copies sold, according to this week’s issue of Famitsu magazine. [Thanks, Game Jouhou.]

According to the magazine report, Freedom Wars has reached 35,000 downloads in a little less than a month since its release.

[Ishaan’s note: This is in addition to the game’s retail sales, which were at 262,427 copies as of last week. That brings total sales to around 300,000 copies.]

The game’s first major update, that brings an online infrastructure mode with voice chat, a new Enemy Territory Invasion feature, character rankings, and more, will go live sometime in the near future in Japan.

Freedom Wars is expected to release sometime this year in the West for PlayStation Vita.
