In order to get into Burst Mode, you’ll need to fill up the Burst Meter by doing plenty of cooperative attacks against enemies. Since parties consist of six members, it shouldn’t be too hard to rack up the Burst Meter points.

Once you enter Burst Mode, your chained attacks won’t break. That means you can do more hits with increased power through Assist Attacks from the first two party members.

Once the third party member throws in their Assist Attack, it takes a special and more powerful form called a Variable Strike.

The Variable Strike starts out with two party members pulling off more attacks, followed by a powerful third attack with a special animation. The damage of the third strike varies according to the chain number and which character is performing it.

Thus, using the Burst Mode and its chains and Variable Strike, players can do massive damage to opponents.
