Sega’s Phantasy Star Online 2 is now live in English in South East Asia. The servers are being run by Asiasoft in English.
At the same time, there’s reports coming in from several places (thanks to PSO2 Blog for collating the info) that South East Asian IPs are suddenly finding themselves completely IP-blocked from the Japanese version of the online game. Officially, the English servers are for those living in the following countries only: Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, Indonesia and the Philippines.
The closest thing to an official reply on the above issue is a screenshot from PSO2 Blog.
There’s also some typical launch day woes for the South East Asian version, with some users complaining of errors trying to login. Hopefully those will clear up in time.

Phantasy Star Online 2 is out now on PC and PlayStation Vita in Japan and in English in Asia on PC. A Western release has been announced, but no date has been set.
