We hinted at Grasshopper Manufacture’s future earlier in the morning. Now, let’s take a look at their past.
Flower, Sun, and Rain was one of Grasshopper’s earlier games. Even though FSR is coming out on the Nintendo DS this week, it was originally a PlayStation 2 game. Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days developer, H.a.n.d., adapted the game with touch screen puzzles and a hidden No More Heroes costume.
Xseed’s version comes out tomorrow and it seems to be getting little, if any buzz. In an interview with Joystiq, Jun Iwasaki, President of Xseed, said, “So we considered, ‘is it appropriate to bring to the US or not?’ And considered it again and again, so finally we decided ‘okay,’ we’ll try to launch. This takes a long time of consideration.” It sounds there was a chance that Xseed was going to pass on publishing Flower, Sun, and Rain. After a release date switch from March to June Flower, Sun, and Rain will finally come out this week.
Did Xseed make the right choice picking this up? Are you still interested a Groundhog Day style adventure game?
