Tekken 6 has something like Tekken Force. Campaign mode lets players pick any Tekken combatant and dive into a Double Dragon style beat ’em up.
You can use all of your regular moves in campaign mode, but weapons like machine guns and flamethrowers were much better for crowd control. In the first level I punched through dozens of drones and… bear cubs. Tekken 6 has a bizarre sense of humor just like the other games in the series.
In the next level I took control of a giant, four legged robot. It fired rockets, bullets, and had a spin punch move. Since the generic guards and the end of level boss, Anna, weren’t riding mecha of their own I literally stomped my way to victory. The carnage was ridiculous, but also very satisfying.
You can collect customization items in campaign mode. All the way at the end you’re rewarded with a character specific ending. Most levels can be played with a friend too, on the couch or online. I said “most” since the mecha levels for one player only. I suppose Namco Bandai didn’t have room on the screen for a second mech, but it would have been cool if a second player could control the mech’s guns or something of the sort.
